Your tin badges
In the winter of 1846–47, two hundred badges of the “Ancient and Honorable Order” were worn at a ball in Cassopolis. Not one is known to survive. Here you can earn your own: twenty-three of them: twenty for the things you do as you explore the site, two for keeping the hunt going, and one for cracking a case, with five ranks on the way from Candidate to Keeper of the Hall.
Say the word
Somewhere on every page of this site, a line is written in code. Turn it with the cipher wheel in the hunter’s toolkit, and it will tell you what to do.
The second line
You broke the first. Here is a harder one, and the cipher wheel alone will not open it. Look at the wheel’s other setting.

Carry your ledger
Your badges, followed cases and notebook live only in this browser. To carry them to another device, take your ledger with you: a small file, made here, that Project Scroll on another device can read back. Nothing is sent to us.
Your charter
Every badge earned. You may print your charter: type your name as you want it written, then print.
Your charter is made on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Your badges are kept only in this browser, on this device. Nobody else can see them, and we never receive them.
