Clocks
All of southwest Michigan (Berrien, Cass, Van Buren, St. Joseph, Kalamazoo) and Indiana's St. Joseph and Elkhart counties keep Eastern time. LaPorte County, Indiana (Michigan City and La Porte), keeps Central time, as does Chicago — so the clock jumps an hour when you cross into LaPorte County or ride the South Shore Line west of it.
