    Welcome

    Kosciusko County, Indiana

Kosciusko County lies in northern Indiana, south of Elkhart County. Its boundaries were set on February 7, 1835, and it was organized in April 1836; John B. Chapman named it for Thaddeus Kosciusko, the Polish officer who served under Washington in the Revolution. Warsaw is the county seat. Most of the county drains to the Wabash by the Tippecanoe and Eel rivers; only its northern lakes and townships, where Turkey Creek runs out of Lake Wawasee and Syracuse Lake to the Elkhart River, drain to the St. Joseph.

About 80,000 people live here today (80,240 at the 2020 census), in Warsaw, Syracuse and the lake and farm townships around them. Pick a place to begin.
