An orchard at its best, near Benton Harbor and St. Joseph, about 1930 to 1945. Boston Public Library, Tichnor Brothers Collection.

The St. Joseph River valley. Fall is harvest time in the valley, and the passport has a trail just for it.

The mill. Bonneyville Mill near Bristol, Indiana, a county park around a historic grist mill that still grinds flour, open Tuesday to Sunday until mid-November.

The orchard. Jollay Orchards near Coloma, where the same family has farmed since 1857: u-pick fruit, fresh cider and apple-cinnamon doughnuts.

The stove town. The Dowagiac Area History Museum, free, where the story of the Round Oak Stove Company is told.

Press “I’m here” at all three between September and November of the same year, and the harvest badge is yours. Check each place’s hours before you go.
